Looking Back | Looking Ahead 2025-2026
2025 was a challenging year for FireBoard. In fact, as Ted Conrad, FireBoard Founder and CEO states in the above video:
“I kind of think of this last year as a rebuilding year”
2024 was an exciting year with the launch of the FireBoard Pulse wireless thermometer. What seemed rather simple on paper became a big challenge with the reality of jamming a bunch of electronics, including not just one, but TWO methods of wireless communication, down a small stainless steel tube. The Pulse broadcasts the standard Bluetooth communication. But, in order to penetrate the walls of smokers and walls (and even freezers and coolers!), 900Mhz technology was used and developed. FireBoard has named this technology S1G.
As a small company, FireBoard has the ability to pivot and make changes quicker than other larger companies. So, after the first batch of Pulses hit the market, we deliberated about how to improve the design for both functionality and assembly. So, changes were (and continue to be!) made to the board design in order to achieve a better product. The same was done for the assembly process. Our assembly process now combines efficiency with reliability. Much of the FireBoard efforts were focused on this in 2025.
But that doesn’t mean new products weren’t being developed!
2026 promises to be one of the best in FireBoard history! Two new products were recently announced that will be available in early 2026.
The first announcement was the development of a controller for the Masterbuilt gravity fed charcoal smoker. This unit combines our Drive technology and FIreBoard 2 functionality into a device that retrofits an existing Masterbuilt into a FireBoard controlled smoker via the FireBoard App. The unit is a plug-and-play device, completely replacing the built-in electronics of the Masterbuilt with a purpose-built controller. Current testing has gone very well and the unit is expected to be available in late Q1 2026.

Similar to the Masterbuilt controller, FireBoard also announced the new FireBoard Pellet Drive. This unit replaces the original controller on many of the most popular pellet smokers. Also a plug-and-play device, the FireBoard Pellet Drive can turn a non-working or unreliable pellet smoker into a FireBoard driven and WiFi, Bluetooth and S1G enabled machine. In-house and partner testing has gone extremely well and we anticipate this to be a hot seller for FireBoard in 2026! This unit will be available by late January 2026.
FireBoard continues to innovate and provide best-in-class devices. We are working hard to ensure that when our products leave the factory, they are second-to-none.
