What Data Does FireBoard Collect?
Creating a FireBoard Cloud Account
If you want access to data collected by your device, you must create a FireBoard Cloud account. Creating a FireBoard Cloud account requires you to provide an email address. Your email address will be your FireBoard Cloud user name, which you will use to log-into your account. In addition, you may optionally provide your First and Last name and/or a Business name. We do not display any of this information to other users.
Synchronizing data with the FireBoard Cloud
When your FireBoard is connected via WiFi or has a BLE connection to your phone/device, data recorded on your FireBoard is transferred from your device to our servers. This data is stored in the FireBoard Cloud and is associated with your account. With each synchronization, we keep a log of certain aspects of the transmission. Some examples of the additional data we log are the synchronization time and date, FireBoard battery level, wireless and bluetooth connection strength readings, and realtime temperature values from attached probes.
Whenever you contact FireBoard through our contact form, we collect your name and email address along with the optional message you may provide.
Why we collect data
We collect your data in order to show you realtime temperature updates via our mobile or web apps. In addition, all data collected that is associated with your account is available to you through our mobile and web apps. Providing a complete historical view of all temperatures recorded.
How Long We Save Your Data
We store your data as long as you maintain a FireBoard account.
Why We Request Location Permission in the App
When initially adding your FireBoard to your account, the app needs to scan for nearby FireBoards using the phone/tablet’s bluetooth radio. We need permission to use your device’s bluetooth functionality because low energy bluetooth beacons could potentially be used to track your location. FireBoard does not utilize, collect, or store your location data – we simply use bluetooth to facilitate activating your device and relaying temperature data.

How To Deactivate Your FireBoard Account
You can deactivate your FireBoard account by contacting us. Backup copies of your data will be removed from the FireBoard Cloud based upon an automated schedule; therefore it may persist in our archive for a short period.
Can I Opt-out Of Receiving FireBoard Emails?
Yes, simply use the unsubscribe link provided at the bottom of our newsletter and marketing emails.
How Does FireBoard Keep My Data Safe?
