Thanksgiving and Christmas Roasts

Hannah and Wendy-

It was a long drive from our Newfoundland seaside cottage to your headquarters in Kansas City, but worth every mile (about 3000 of them) to learn from you about how to overcome our Fireboard challenges. Thank you for spending time with us and the tour of your impressive facility. As a retired NASA scientist/engineer, I can honestly say you have "the Right Stuff".

AND SUCCESS!! We did a trial Pork Butt last week at our Palm Springs home and your suggestion about bringing the temperature to near the Set Point before starting the fan or adding the roast made all the difference. It turned out great. AND now that we've experienced your neighborhood Wolfpack pulled pork and their sauce, we made our own Kansas City BBQ sauce, and it really enhanced the flavor.

This success gave us confidence to go forward with a more expensive Crown Pork Roast for our Thanksgiving guests. So, with fingers crossed, we increased the Pit temperature to 200F before starting the fan to reach the 325F Set Point. It locked-on perfectly at 325F; no overshooting. We "plugged-in" the roast and watched it cook to 130F before basting every 5 minutes until it reached 149F. The result was fabulous, and our guests were so delighted that they were talking about it all evening long. Thanks for making us look so good.

Christmas is coming, and the entire the family is looking forward to our annual Prime Beef Tenderloin Roast. We're VERY confident it will be cooked to perfection using our FireBoard Pro.

Replacement order for worn out probes

I love your products but have had many probes fail. Most begin by being slower in response and then seem to become inaccurate. I smoke at least once and up to four or five time a month. I have bought two of your Gen 1 meters. One is connected to your probes used to monitor two refrigerators and one freezer in our home. I just run the probes through the door which draws moisture into the freezer so gave been contemplating drilling access holes by the upper hinges to allow the seals to not be leaking. Also have a Gen two thermometer. I almost exclusively use all of the via the mobile app as the keyboards are hard to use especially the Gen 2 meters. That is really my biggest complaint as well as the chages on the temp alarms are not stable when entering the settings. Using the done key between temp settings and label settings seems to help but at times they don't always take and one must reenter the settings. Regarding the robustness of the probes it appears after many uses. I clean and was the probes after a ckk with liquid dish soap and use a wet steel wool and try to minimize water contacting the probe. I have a large stock of probes to qualify for your holiday promotions. I have given your Spark as gifts as it is easy to use and fast in reading. My non technical wife uses it the most in BBQing as well as cooking in the kitchen. Your meters are well made and have saved us hundreds of dollars in alerting us of our deep freezer failing thanks to the constant alarm setting. When it locked up the alarm notified me of the deep freezer approaching 20 F and I was able to get it running after the compressor cooled off. The alarm gave us a another day to buy a replacement. My first meter went to monitor the refrigerator and freezers while we did international travels as I have many hundreds of dollars in insulin in our second refrigerator. I could not only monitor the temp but have alarms for keeping my insulin at a proper storage temperature. Thanks Fireboard for making such reliable products for the home BBQer and owner. I have given or tossed all of the other meters and inaccurate probes away. I am now only a Fireboard user. Gratefully.
